I hope you've been well without getting sick much lately!
With autumn, the little bugs start circulating in the air...
As I shared in the last newsletter about autumn, which corresponds to the Metal element from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is also related to an organ pair.
In autumn we work with the lung and large intestine, which on an emotional level are linked with grief, mourning, and in large part the melancholy for what was lived in the glory of summer—and with inhalation/inspiration and letting go.
So when someone is in grief or melancholy, they "close," and that restricts the full movement and expansion of the lungs. To counterbalance that gesture, the Metal forms support you and deeply open the lungs (Yin organ, for receiving oxygen) and tonify the large intestine (Yang organ, for expelling toxins), which are in an internal–external interrelationship in this season. At the same time, we work on strengthening our Wei Qi (the protective shield)—the immune system—with Metal Forms!
Wei Qi, located in the subcutaneous layer (which can also be stimulated by rubbing the skin), protects the body from external pathogenic factors. Its strength determines the body's resistance to illness.
Here I also leave you key points to stimulate in this season:
